Hurricane Sandy made land very south of me.

The wind has continued to get stronger all day long. But so far we are doing just fine no power failure here. We are not very worried about this storm Sandy. I feel no need to give any of you a weather report.

Seeing has I have woke up every morning for over a week with a stomach ache I have decided to reduce the amount of formula I am taking in tonight. I also noticed yesterday that the size of my “belly button” hernia has more than doubled; actually it is about 4 times what is was. I don’t know if it is all hernia, or if it is a tumor around the hernia. When I see my doctors we will need to check it out.

There isn’t much else to tell you so I will say good night. I pray that all of you safe.

  1. Hey Suzie,
Hurricane Sandy hit land very west of us, so I think we missed the worst of it. The power kept blinking yesterday, but never really went out. We have a big broken tree branch to deal with today, but it's not going to be too bad. Our neigbhors lost some big branches and one with a dead pine tree in their yard, now have a dead broken pine tree in their yard. So all in all we're doing well. Mom is fine. I haven't heard from Vicky or Dad yet, but I'm sure all will be well with them also.

Good to know the storm didn't give you any trouble.

    Love, Cathy

  2. It is now 10 pm on Halloween and I have seen a post from Carl so I guess you are right about he and Vicky being okay. Mom tried to call your dad about an hour ago. The land line did not go through and it seems he got rid of the cell phone. I sent a note to Carl asking about you and your dad. But no news from him yet. I only sent it about 10 minutes ago.

    1. Dad is fine I have a cell number for him I'll send you in a facebook message. He lost power, so his phone, etc isn't working. A neighbor has hooked up an extension cord from his generator to dad's refrigerator so he can keep food in the house. He thinks it'll be awhile before he has power again 'cause it's such a little out of the way development. He's coming over Sunday for my birthday, so i'll remind him to reach out and touch the family. Cell service isn't what it should be around here 'cause some cell towers are down/without power. It really is a disaster. Just about every gas station is out of gas. I don't know what the grocery stores look like 'cause, fortunately, we haven't had to go. The kids haven't been in school all week and with no gas for the buses, maybe not next week either! I got back to work today, the library was mobbed with people trying to get on the internet and charge their cell phones. Crazy stuff. But thank God we are all fine ... lots of blessings to count. ;)

    2. Thank you so much for the two messages. I made sure Mom has your Dad's cell phone number. If your Dad tries to call us on Sunday, please have him do it after 2:30 to be sure we are home from Church.

We are counting our blessings that your branch of the family is alright. On my Dad's side of the family I have a cousin in the midsection of NJ and have gotten word that his family is doing well also.

If your Dad would rather send emails to folks instead of a bunch of phone calls that would be okay too. Just have him send it to me instead of Mom. With her having macular degeneration this print is to small for her to read, so she does not check her email very often.I am just thinking one email sent to several people might be easier for your Dad. But that is just an idea.

We are sorry to hear that your Dad is out of power, but he is surly being blessed by that neighbor. He could be a lot worse off. How is travel in your part of the island?

My Mom got very mad when she saw the lines of people who were trying to gas up their cars. She wanted to know why they didn't fill up before the storm or if they did where had they been going to use up the fuel?

We have not needed the grocery stores either. Later today I need to review my medications for the month. Something I do the 1st of each month. We are doing great otherwise.

      Suzie
